The Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department of the National Flood Early Warning Center, Federal Ministry of Environment, Abuja, has predicted that 15 states in the country are likely to experience heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding between Wednesday, 24th September and Sunday, 28th September, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Director of the Department, Usman Abdullahi Bokani; the states are Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Edo, Imo, Kano, Katsina, Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba and Zamfara.
In Delta, the locations expected to be affected are Abigborodo, Aboh, Abraka, Agbor, Asaba, Forcados, Koko and Okoloba.
Others are Okpo-Krika, Patani, Sapele, Ughelli, Warri, Umugboma, Umukwata, and Umochi-Utchi.
The relevant stakeholders have been urged to take note.
