The death has been announced of Mrs Janet Ezechi, nee Uzor, mother of the member representing the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Nnamdi Ezechi.
She was aged 98.
According to a statement issued by the Federal Lawmaker, on behalf of the family, the nonagenarian passed away on Sunday, 1st February, 2026, after a brief illness.
Until her death, the late Mrs Janet Ezechi was a devout Christian and a renowned community leader.
She is survived by seven children, namely: Mrs Julie Uzoalu, Mrs Nwanyibuife Obiosa, Mrs Stella Omenogor, Mrs Anwuli Onyema, Mr Victor Ezechi, Rt Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, and Mr Stephen Ezechi, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives.
Burial arrangements will be announced later.
