Members of the Delta Grassroots Network (DGN), have asked the Founder of the group, Hon Chuks Asuai; to quit the the ruling party, APC, for what they termed non recognition by the system.
The group, at its meeting in Asaba over the weekend, noted that the efforts of Hon Asuai and some other members, to the installation of leaders since 2015 had remained unrewarded, stressing that the precious time and resources deployed were only wasted.
They unanimously agreed to purchase the nomination form of any party the Founder chose to contest the House of Assembly seat on its platform, promising to mobilize support for him.
When contacted, Hon Asuai, who was not at the meeting, said members of the group were only feeling for him, following his seeming rejection by the system, even with all the contributions he had led the body to make in all elections since 2015.
He urged his concerned members to be patient, expressing optimism that something positive might happen anytime soon.
Hon Asuai used the opportunity to commend Governor Sheriff Obborevwori for the giant strides so far made by his administration, citing the multi-billion naira Uromi Junction flyover, alongside the one at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli and the three others nearing completion at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction, the Aboh-Akarai road, among others.
