A foremost Asaba grassroots politician, community leader, businessman and philanthropist, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, has congratulated Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN OON, on the first anniversary of his coronation as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.

Ogbueshi Okonji, who spoke with newsmen at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, venue of the anniversary celebration, said Asaba was lucky to have Asagba Prof Azinge as their King at this point in time.

He noted that in just one year on the throne, the traditional ruler had performed beyond imagination and expectations to justify his choice by over 95 percent of Asaba people, saying that even the less than 5 percent of people against him were amazed at the momentum of his leadership.

The former Oshimili South PDP Chairman said no body ever imagined that Asaba students in tertiary institutions would ever receive bursary and scholarship awards from the community, but the Asagba made that possible and also empowered the poor and vulnerable with cash gifts.

Dada Global Resources helmsman said the war against drug peddling and the idea of rehabilitation of Asaba sons rooted in drugs initiated by the Monarch were instructive of his interest in the welfare and well-being of the people.

He noted that the impressive turn out of Asaba people, eminent personalities, brother traditional rulers, non-indigenes in their numbers, amongst others, spoke volumes about love for the king and appreciation for his visionary leadership.

Dada Okonji prayed God to keep the Asagba strong and healthy, endow him with the strength and wisdom to discharge his duties for the betterment of Asaba people and non-indigenes in the community.
