The traditional ruler of Issele-Uku, in Aniocha North Local Government Area, HRM Obi Nduka, has commended the Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah Green Energy Foundation ECCCGEF, for effectively leading advocacy on Climate Change and Green Energy.
Obi Nduka gave the commendation when the President of the ECCCGEF, Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah FNSE, led a team to his palace to present to him 25 economic trees and Two (2) copies of Anthology of Poems on Climate Change published by the Foundation.

The Monarch noted that ECCCGEF had been in the forefront of advocacy on Climate Change and Green Energy, backed up with the planting of economic trees to not only renew the face of the earth, but also serve as sources of fruits and income.
He added that the public had become better informed about the causes, effects and mitigation of Climate Change, as well as the importance of renewable energy through the Foundation’s sensitization campaign.
The Obi, who sought to know the reality or otherwise of Climate Change and how local rain makers control the climate/weather, congratulated ECCCGEF for recently winning the 2025 Delta Environmental Sustainability Award, and promised to distribute the trees to his Palace Chiefs for planting and nurturing.
The President of ECCCGEF, Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah FNSE, who was accompanied by the Foundation’s Secretary, Ogbueshi Cyril Monyei observed that the Palace ground was environmentally friendly ,enlightened the Obi and his Palace Chiefs about Climate change, its causes, mitigation and adaptation, as well as the importance of renewable energy in reducing carbon footprint.

He told the king that the economic trees were sourced from the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
Answering the Monarch’s question, Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah said Climate Change was real and that rainmaking was a native art which might work for those who had faith in the process.
The ECCCGEF President, however, noted that weather forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Services and Goggle seem to be scientific, more reliable and transparent.
The ECCCGEF team thereafter moved to St. Pius X Grammar School, Onicha-Ugbo and were heartily received by the Principal Rev Fr. Emma Ogbolu, staff and student of the 1960 – founded Prominent Catholic College with evidently very clean and green environment.
The Principal was specially delighted that the trees, 25 of which were presented to the school, were sourced from IITA Ibadan, a centre of excellence for Agriculture in Africa.
He commended the Foundation for her interventions to renew the face of the earth, creat quality environment and make our common planetary home more liveable, the communities more resilient and less vulnerable to the effects of climatic crises.

In the Climate Change and Renewable Energy advocacy lectures delivered to staff and students of the College, the ECCCGEF Founder and President, Engr Chief Chris C Chukwurah FNSE, FNIProcE, FNIEE, FFCSD, recalled the late Pope Francis Encyclical, Laudate Si , which identified human consumerist attitudes, wastes and unsustainable life styles as implicated in the Climate Change phenomena and called on all to reduce wastes, plant trees and stop excessive consumerist attitudes with few practical examples.
Copies of the publications of ECCCGEF President were made available to the Principal who praised the authenitic public spirit of the ECCCGEF team and stressed that the students would in their usual practice, nurture the trees to yield fruits in their due seasons.
The 50 economic trees , 25 each were presented to the Issele Uku Palace and St. Pius X Grammar School Onicha-Ugbo, and included Avocados, Cashewnuts, Mangoes, Native Pears, Sourchops, Bitter kola and Cherry (Udala).
