Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has praised the visionary and unifying leadership of the Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Pere Couple Markson Oromoni, Monbene III, who marks a decade on the throne.
Speaking on Friday at the 10th coronation anniversary celebration of the revered traditional ruler, the Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, described his reign as a remarkable period of peace, progress, and development for the kingdom and the state at large.
Governor Oborevwori said over the past ten years, the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh had demonstrated exceptional leadership characterized by extraordinary acumen, wisdom, and allegiance to the well-being of his people”, noting that his reign had strengthened unity among the people and fostered mutual understanding with neighbouring communities.
He credited the Monarch’s commitment to dialogue and conflict resolution for sustaining peace and stability within the kingdom, a feat he said had attracted the much-needed development to the area.
“Your Royal Majesty, your visionary leadership has brought us to this milestone, and we have confidence in your ability to navigate the complexities of the future. Like previous administrations, this government will continue to work with you to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and create a more prosperous and harmonious Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom”, Oborevwori assured.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions, improving socio-economic indicators, and promoting inclusive growth across Delta State.
He urged residents of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom and all Deltans to embrace the values of peace, unity, and cooperation to achieve greater progress.
Calling for more support from leaders across clans and communities within the kingdom, Governor Oborevwori charged them to consolidate the gains made in the past decade and confront emerging challenges with wisdom and innovation.
“We should embrace our diversity and leverage our collective strengths and talents to drive growth and development. As we celebrate this 10th anniversary of resilience, strength, determination, and progress, we are reminded of the enduring spirit of unity and cooperation among Deltans”, he added.
Governor Oborevwori further expressed gratitude to the Monarch for his selfless service, noting that his tireless efforts had advanced the welfare of his people and the interests of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
“Your Majesty, you are a beacon of hope and inspiration to our people. May Almighty God continue to guide and bless you, as we look forward to many more years of peace, progress, and prosperity under your reign”, the Governor said.
The event attracted dignitaries, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and indigenes from far and near, who joined in celebrating the milestone in the history of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
