Rain Of Encomiums As ERC Director Pastor (Mrs) Biyibi-Godson Takes A Bow From Civil Service

A retired Director in the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Pastor (Mrs ) Joy Biyibi-Godson has been commended for her contributions to the growth of the civil service and for her efforts at uplifting the Uvwie Kingdom.

The wife of the Initiator of Uvwie Dialect Restoration Initiative (UDRI) Mrs. Daboner Ruth Omonigho, gave the commendation in Asaba at a birthday party organized by the staff of the Education Resource Centre in honour of their Director, Pastor (Mrs.) Joy Biyibi-Godson who just retired from the State Civil Service.

She described the retiree as a committed community leader, whose efforts towards the development of Uvwie community was worthy of emulation, adding that as a Director, Pastor (Mrs. ) Biyibi-Godson had added so much value to the educational development of the state.

In their separate remarks, a Deputy Director in the ERC department, Mrs. Eguono Temiagin; the Secretary of Uvwie Community, Asaba Branch, Mr. Patrick Omagbemi; the immediate past Chief Inspector of Education (CIE) for Isoko North, Celia Babigha; a Chief Education Officer, Mr. Celestine Oseji and one of the organizers of the ceremony, Miss Kome Ejovi, described the celebrant as a quintessential administrator whose innovations and inspiring ideas were commendable.

They explained that the retiring Director carried them along in the scheme of things, just as Mr. Omagbemi stated that she had always been passionate about the welfare of Uvwie community.

Earlier in a short exhortation, Revd Canon Odibeli of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Asaba, said it was a good thing to retire without issues, maintaining that it was also a good thing to thank God on retiring from service.

While praying God to strengthen the retiree, Revd. Odibeli said so many things happened in service which could lead to the dismissal or withdrawal of any officer from service.

Also speaking, the first daughter of the celebrant, Pastor Olufumi  Olaosun, noted that their mother was a woman of substance who consistently stood for them in life.

Responding, Pastor Biyibi-Godson, who appreciated her colleagues for the support, said she was overwhelmed by the gesture.

Pastor (Mrs.) Biyibi-Godson, who  stated that she decided to celebrate her retirement birthday with an orphanage in Asaba in order to give the orphans a sense of belonging, said she was happy to retire from the civil service.
