Oborevwori Celebrates Idjerhe Monarch, Udurhie I, At 60, 5th Coronation Anniversary

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, JP, PhD, Udurhie I, as the revered Monarch marks his 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Governor Oborevwori, in a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, described the twin celebration as a remarkable milestone reflecting sixty years of birth and five years of purposeful, stable and people-oriented traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom. 

He noted that the anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the Monarch’s contributions to the preservation of cultural values, peaceful coexistence and the overall progress of the kingdom.

Governor Oborevwori stated that since ascending the throne, Udurhie I had demonstrated exemplary leadership anchored on wisdom, humility and inclusiveness, which had helped to strengthen unity among the people of Idjerhe and promote enduring peace. 

According to him, “the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the kingdom today is a testament to the Monarch’s commitment to dialogue, consensus-building and respect for traditional institutions”.

The Governor further commended the Idjerhe King for his support for development initiatives and his cooperation with government at all levels, noting that such partnership had continued to advance grassroots development and socioeconomic growth in the area. 

Governor Oborevwori added that the Monarch’s reign had been marked by stability and progress, earning him the respect and admiration of his subjects and well-meaning Deltans.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and longevity for the royal father, wishing him many more years of impactful service on the throne.
