The conferral of a Doctorate Degree on High Chief Government Ekpomupolo, popularly called Tompolo, by Edwin Clark University has continued to draw admiration from leaders and stakeholders across the region.

Adding his voice, former Delta State Deputy Governor, Deacon Barr. Kingsley B. Otuaro, said the recognition stood as a clear validation of Tompolo’s long record of public service and community driven leadership.

Otuaro, in his message, said Tompolo had spent years promoting peace, championing grassroots development, and empowering people across the Niger Delta, describing the award as a reflection of achievements earned through consistent effort rather than public applause.

According to him, Tompolo had influenced national conversations, supported critical community initiatives, and demonstrated a style of leadership that focused on results and human progress.

He added that the honorary degree placed him among respected figures whose contributions had continued to shape the region.

Otuaro also noted that the award sent a powerful signal about the value of protecting local identity, investing in the youth, and standing firm for fairness even in challenging times.

The former Deputy Governor expressed hope that the recognition would further strengthen Tompolo’s role as a guide for the next generation.

“Congratulations to my brother, High Chief Government Ekpomupolo. This honour is truly deserved, and greater milestones lie ahead”, Otuaro said.
