The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS; has called on residents of Asaba and the environs to make out time to visit the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park for recreation.
He made the call on Saturday when he visited the Park to see the Tiger added to the collection of wildlife in the Zoo.

The Asagba said the addition was a welcome development that the community would like to showcase to the whole world because it announced Asaba as a tourist destination.
The highly revered king explained that his visit to the Park was a demonstration of his happiness and the pride of the people of Asaba, pointing out that record had it that “the Tiger is the first of it’s kind in Nigeria, West Africa and the second in Africa, south of the Sahara.

He thanked the Delta State Government and the management of the Park for making the addition of the Tiger possible and used the opportunity to invite recreation seeking residents to visit the facility to catch a glimpse of the Asian-native largest member of the cat family.
Asagba Prof Azinge expressed optimism that more wildlife would be added to the Park in due course to truly make Asaba the desired tourist destination, in line with his vision of branding the town.

The forward-looking traditional ruler was earlier at the Park’s Sea World, where 20 out of Delta’s 60 species of fish were exhibited in aquariums.
He was conducted round the facilities by the Concessionaire of the Park, Barr. Bali Dipo and members of the Asaba Tourism Committee, led by Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah FNSE.
