The representative of the Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Ned Nwoko, has expressed optimism that Anioma State will be created as the 37th state of the Federation.
Senator Nwoko gave the assurance while hosting his kinsmen in an enlarged meeting comprising leaders and members of the All Progressives Party (APC) Ward 8, Idumuje, in Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Addressing the people at Mount Ned Resort in his Idumuje-Ugboko ancestral home, the Senator said Anioma had fulfilled all necessary requirements to become a state and noted that “the emergence was only a matter of time, with preparation for referendum”.
He said the administration of President Bola Tinubu as well as critical stakeholders, including socio cultural groups across the country were all committed to the creation of the state.
Senator Nwoko called for continued support in the quest for Anioma state.
He told his kinsmen that he was happy to be the first Senator in the history of Idumuje clan, as well as Aniocha North and thanked the people for their goodwill.
Senator Nwoko said he had provided valuable social infrastructure and empowerment programmes since he assumed office and assured that he would always serve the best interests of his constituents in Delta North.
The Federal Lawmaker, who is also the Chancellor of Sports university, Idumuje Ugboko, urged parents and guardians within Ward 8 and other parts of Delta North to take advantage of a scholarship programme he initiated in the institution to educate their children,for a better future.
