The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has commended the victorious Super Falcons of Nigeria, for again bringing glory to the country by winning the 10th WAFCON title against host Morocco.
The Speaker, in a statement made available to Journalists by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, attributed the development to the unwavering determination, resilience, and teamwork of the great female football ambassadors.
Rt Hon Guwor said he was overwhelmed with joy and pride as he watched the Super Falcons of Nigeria make a remarkable comeback, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against Morocco at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Guwor, who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, expressed warmest congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria on the historic victory, which he noted was not only a testament to their exceptional skills on the field but also a shining example of the strength, courage, and spirit of Nigerian women.
According to the Speaker, who is also a striker in the game of football, the team had once again demonstrated that with hard work, dedication, and passion, Nigerians could achieve greatness.
Guwor, on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, commended the coach, technical crew, and the players for their tireless efforts, sacrifices, and commitment to excellence, stressing that the victory was a source of pride for the nation.
