Senator Francis Alimikhena has won the Edo North senatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2023 election.
Alimikhena emerged winner of the party primary held on Saturday, in Auchi, with a total of 181 votes, following the withdrawal of the earlier winner, Victoria Edelokun, from the race for personal reasons.
The serving Senator recently defected to PDP after withdrawing his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
He will now square up with a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who is the party’s flag bearer for the 2023 senatorial election.
