The presidential screening committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has screened out 10 out of the 23 aspirants seeking to fly the party’s flag in the 2023 presidential election.

The Chairman of the committee and former National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, who disclosed this on Friday, said only youthful aspirants made the list, but did not disclose the identity of those cleared or disqualified.

The former Edo State Governor confirmed that contrary to speculations, former President Goodluck Jonathan was not among those screened.

The aspirants were screened on Monday and Tuesday this week and the cleared aspirants are expected to contest the primaries at a special convention scheduled to hold in Abuja between the 6th and 8th of June.

It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had charged the Governors elected on the platform of APC to ensure that the party’s convention to pick a presidential candidate reflected all the values and virtues of the party, adding that the candidate to be selected must be one who would give the masses a sense of victory and confidence even before the election.
