A one – day sensitization workshop on the Petroleum Industry Act implementation progress for all stakeholders, sons and daughters of petroleum communities in Delta State will hold on Thursday, 5th February, 2026.
The sensitization programme is to ensure that Host Communities enjoy their direct social benefits of petroleum operations as contained in chapter 3 of the Petroleum Industry Act, (PIA).

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon., Sheriff Oborevwori; will grace the ceremony as Special Guest of Honour, while the Pere of Akugbene-Mein and First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, S. P. Luke Kalanama V111, will be the Chairman of the occasion.

The Ovie of Ozoro and Chairman of Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON), His Royal Majesty, Bar. Anthony Ogbogbo JP, Ibuka 1, will be the Royal Father of the day.

A statement by High Chief George Bucknor, of Meco and Marine Holdings Ltd, on behalf of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, (NUPRC), said the programme will help to collate actionable intelligence on the settlors/host communities’ activities, as it relates to the host communities sustainable development.
The sensitization workshop will also facilitate compliance with the provisions of Chapter 3 of the PIA and provide accurate information to the Commission regarding non- compliance by HCDTs/or settlor within applicable laws among several other objectives.
The event will hold at Government House Annex, Warri, at ten in the morning.
According to the statement accreditation of invited guests will begin at the venue by 9:30 am.
