The Asagba of Asaba and very close friend of late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, His Royal Majesty, Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON; has called for Inclusiveness in his burial ceremony.
The Monarch, who made the call when a delegation of the political family of the late ‘Oracle of Delta Politics’ in Oshimili North Local Government Area visited him, said as many as would want to be involved in the funeral should be allowed to play their roles.
He noted that Senator Nwaoboshi was a rare breed of politician who lived a principled and an Impactful life, adding that the deceased was able to build a family across party lines, mentored and empowered even his detractors many of whom would want to pay him their last respect.
The Asagba maintained that Nwaoboshi deserved a befitting state burial, which he revealed had been assured by Governor Sheriff Obborevwori and urged members of his political family to work with the bereaved family and other interest groups to ensure seamless burial rites.
His Royal Majesty emphasized that the most important thing was to unite the family the late Senator left behind, stating further that his legacy must be preserved and protected.
While condoling the delegation, the Asagba said he was also deeply devastated by the passing of Senator Nwaoboshi with whom he shared a lot of information and counseling, stressing that the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Hon. Pat Mozia; said though they were badly hit by the death of their principal, they acknowledged that Nna Agu was not only a very close friend but also a brother of the deceased’s and had come to also condole him.
Hon Mozia added that having lost their father figure, they had no other choice but to take refuge in the Monarch, urging His Majesty to adopt them as his children.
