Former Delta State Deputy Governor, Deacon Barrister Kingsley B. Otuaro, during the festive period, visited immediate past Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, in the spirit of  enduring statesmanship and shared commitment to the good of the state.

The meeting, characterised by warmth and spiritual reflection, centred on prayers for peace, stability, and sustainable progress across the state.

The courtesy visit, which has become a hallmark of Otuaro’s festive engagements, was more than a social call, as it served as a reminder of the strong partnership both leaders enjoyed while in office, a relationship forged through eight years of shared governance, mutual respect, and common purpose.

Otuaro served diligently as Deputy Governor under Okowa from 2015 to 2023, and the bond they nurtured has remained resilient despite their departure from official positions.

During the visit, both leaders engaged in heartfelt conversations, reflecting on their time in public service and the lessons learned from steering the affairs of the state.

They spoke on the importance of continuity, unity among leaders, and maintaining a sense of responsibility to the people even after leaving office.

A key highlight of the visit was a joint prayer session, where Otuaro and Okowa committed the state, its citizens, and the administration of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori into God’s hands.

They prayed for divine wisdom to guide the current leadership, for sustained peace, and for prosperity to touch every corner of Delta State.

Observers noted that the act underscored the spiritual foundation that both leaders continue to place at the core of their public service ethos.

Political commentators have described the meeting as a symbol of political maturity and leadership continuity.

In an era often characterised by division and rivalry, the reunion of Otuaro and Okowa is seen as a model for younger politicians, demonstrating that true leadership involves loyalty, collaboration, and concern for the collective good rather than individual ambition.

For many Deltans, the sight of the former Governor and Deputy Governor together once again evoked memories of stable governance and cooperative leadership.

The courtesy visit, combining reflection and prayer, serves as a powerful reminder that leadership extends beyond the tenure of office and that statesmanship is measured by actions, faith, and the commitment to fostering peace and progress for all citizens.
