Oborevwori Reaffirms Commitment to Policies that Promote Peace, Inclusiveness

Governor Sheriff Obborevwori has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing Delta with policies that promote peace, Inclusiveness and sustainable development.

He made the commitment on Friday at the Annual Thanksgiving Service of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Delta State chapter, held at its Alpha and Omega City headquarters in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The Governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, said government would continue to collaborate with faith-based organisations to uplift the people, and build a Delta State where prosperity, harmony and opportunity flourished.

Oborevwori stated that the Church remained a vital pillar of the society, a refuge for hope, a custodian of morality and a steadfast partner in the pursuit of peace and development.

He noted that the prayers, guidance and consistent support of the Church had contributed greatly to the stability and progress being enjoyed across the communities in the state, appreciating the role PFN was playing in nurturing godly values and shaping lives.

The Governor said thanksgiving was not just a ceremony, but a divine instruction, describing the event as one in the spirit of gratitude, acknowledging God’s enduring faithfulness to His Church, the state government and the people of Delta State.

Oborevwori encouraged the celebrants to use the occasion to remain united in prayer for the state, the leaders and the nation, and to intercede for wisdom, peace and progress, believing that with faith in God and unity of purpose every challenge was surmountable.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the state chapter of the PFN and host of the thanksgiving service, Bishop Abos Willie, said thanksgiving was a biblical injunction, under all circumstances, which opened doors to more exploits.

The Guest Speaker and member representing the Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Rev. Francis Waive; dwelt extensively on the theme of the thanksgiving service: “Gratitude for More Exploits”, urging Christians not to take the goodness, mercy and grace of God for granted.
