Oborevwori’s Executive Assistant on Non Indigenes Affairs Warns Against Division Amongst Non Indigenes in Delta

Individuals attempting to cause confusion and division amongst non indigenes resident in Delta State have been told to retrace their steps in the interest of peace.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Barr Emeka Ebiliekwe, made the call in a statement following the planned unapproved inauguration of the State Executive Committee of non indigenes.

Barr Ebiliekwe said the current factional leaders, especially Sir Ben Agazuma and Dan Masani Gambo, and those behind the planned inauguration should maintain the status quo and allow peace to reign pending the harmonization of the various interests.

This, he noted, was important because the unfolding development, if not checked, could lead to factionalism of the leadership of non indigenes in the state, which in turn could cause chaos and compromise peace.

The EA stated that there were no leadership issues with the various non indigenous communities in the state, all of which were known to government and working in support of the Oborevwori administration, stressing that no factions would be tolerated under his watch.

Barr Ebiliekwe said Governor Sheriff Obborevwori had continued to carry non indigenes along in terms of appointment and empowerment, which prompted the assurance of support for his MORE Agenda and peaceful coexistence during a courtesy visit to him by the leadership of the non indigenes and political appointees.

He vowed that his office and leaders of the various non indigenous communities would not sit back and watch a few self-serving individuals betray the confidence of the state government in non indigenes, some of whom had lived with the people for decades contributing to the socioeconomic development of the state.

The EA, therefore, directed that the planned illegal inauguration be put on hold as plans were on to consult widely and elect persons of integrity who would represent the interest of all the non indigenous communities in the state.
