The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA; Hon. Charles Emetulu, Hon. Emma Okoro, Hon. Kris Njokwuemeni, Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese, Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON (rtd) were among dignitaries who were at Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, to bid the pioneer Majority Leader of the State Legislature, Hon. Aneke Ifemeni a final farewell.
The Deputy Governor, in an emotion-laddened message to the family, said, “we recognize and eternally appreciate Ifemeni’s indelible contributions, particularly his historic role as the first Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly.
”Chief Ifemeni’s wisdom and dedication to the upliftment of our community and our state will be greatly missed.
”We pray that the Almighty God grants you, the immediate family, the courage and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
Hon. Aneke Ifemeni, until his death, was Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Agricultural Matters.
He was reputed for the promotion of the cultivation of coconuts.
Popularly known as Ezeadiebuo, Hon. Ifemeni was the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Ifemod Nigeria Limited, a company that was into several businesses, including management of artists, and owner of the famous Ifemod House, then on Allen Avenue, Lagos.
He died at the age of 65 years.
