Elumelu Condoles Asagba Prof Azinge, Asaba Community Over Obi Chief Nwanze Oduah’s Demise

Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu OON, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, over the demise of Odogwu Ahaba, Obi Chief Nwanze Oduah.

Elumelu, in a statement on Saturday November 22, 2025 expressed his deepest sympathies to the family of the late traditional warlord, describing him as a prominent Asaba Chief who demonstrated exceptional loyalty to the throne and handled his duties with a great deal of passion and diligence. 

He highlighted Chief Oduah’s proper understanding of Asaba rich tradition and cultural heritage, as well as his contributions to the community’s development and lamented that his passing would be greatly missed.

Elumelu described the demise of the Odogwu as a huge loss and prayed to God to console the Asagba, the bereaved family and the entire Kingdom of Asaba, urging them to find solace in the Lord God Almighty. 

The renowned politician, who recently returned to Nigeria after a business trip abroad, also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Chief Nwanze Oduah and the souls of all the faithful departed.

Obi Chief Nwanze Oduah passed away after he slumped at an event in Asaba last week.

As a mark of honour to the late illustrious son and prominent Palace Chief, the Asagba of Asaba, HRM, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, ordered a week-long mourning period, with markets in Asaba closed on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
