Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department have arrested the Pastor of Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry, Sapele, one Daniel Ololo, over alleged defilement, rape and sexual assault of church members.

The arrest was on the orders of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, following a petition received against the said Pastor on 13th October 2025.

On the strength of this petition, the CP detailed the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate, leading to the arrest of the suspect on 17th November in his church premises.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, said investigation revealed that the Pastor allegedly used fake prophecy to lure vulnerable church members to his church office and coerce them into believing that if he did not have sex with them, they would not be delivered.

Further Investigation revealed that he had canal knowledge of three sisters of the same mother who were his church members (names withheld), and the last victim was aged 17 years.

Suspect is said to be in custody, and investigation is ongoing.

Also arrested, this time in Agbor, is one Michael Ezenwai while attempting to sell a suspected stolen mobile phone.

According to the PPRO, on 24th October, 2025, the DPO Agbor received a complaint that suspect was trying to sell the phone and swiftly mobilized operatives to the scene and immediately arrested him.

Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he brought the phone from Libya, but unfortunately for him, the phone rang, and the caller said the mobile device belonged to her sister, Christabel Egedefe.

On the strength of this information, the DPO and his team proceeded to the residence of the said Christabel and discovered her dead in her apartment.

At that point, the suspect confessed to the murder of the victim, Christabel Egedefe, aged 26 years, and initially lied that the father of the deceased had asked him to commit the crime.

The suspect, however, changed his statement upon further interrogation, stating that he was only trying to indict the father of the victim.

He then stated that he went on a robbery operation at deceased’s house on the 23rd of October 2025, and murdered her when she refused to let go of her motorcycle keys and also made away with her mobile phones.

Preliminary investigation later revealed that the suspect had been a serial murderer and was part of the syndicate that raped and murdered Uwaila Omorzua, a 200-level student of UNIBEN, whose life was cut short in the church when she went to study in the year 2020.

The suspect, who further stated that he escaped from Oko correctional centre during the End SARS 2020 jailbreak, is in custody, and investigation is ongoing.
