The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), an affiliate of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has commenced the collection of check off dues, effective 13th November 2025.
The Deputy National President of the Union, Comrade Julius Oghenevwegba Bobi; disclosed this in Warri while briefing the press.
Comrade Bobi said the body was duly registered to operate in all parts of the country, pointing out that all motorcycle operators in Nigeria belonged to the Union.
He explained that the check off dues were meant to take care of the welfare of its members, adding that the organisation was collaborating with the Delta State Contributory Health Commission on the health needs of members.
The Deputy National President, who was flanked by members of the state executive of the Union said plans were underway to import over 20,000 motorcycles from China to be distributed to members of the Union free of charge, provided the person has membership Identity card of the Union and a driver’s license.
He, therefore, called on motorcycle operators in the state to co-operate with the Union by paying their dues for the betterment of members.
His words:” Our message is that they should embrace the activities of this Union because it is for the well-being of all Okada riders in Nigeria and Delta State in particular”.
The Union used the medium to express gratitude to the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for allowing its members to operate in the state.
