The Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Obborevwori on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor JP; has identified peace and security as the hallmarks of the past one year reign of the Asagba of Asaba, HRM, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON.
Chief Uzor, who is the Onwa of Oko Kingdom, in a congratulatory message to the Asagba on his 70th birth anniversary, said while some communities were engrossed in different conflicts and disputes, Asaba had remained peaceful and progressive in line with the Enhanced Peace and Security component of the M.O.R.E. agenda of the Obborevwori administration.
The Special Adviser thanked Asagba Prof Azinge for appreciating the importance of peace and security to development, noting that his disposition accounted for the large number of non indigenes and investors in his Kingdom.
He noted with satisfaction the steps so far taken by the highly revered traditional ruler, through various Committees, to reconcile the families and groups in dispute across the villages in Asaba soon after his enthronement, pointing out that his complimentary efforts were quite commendable and admirable.
The Onwa stated that Asagba Prof Azinge had given the throne of his forebears the dignity and respect it deserved and would go down in history as a King that walked his talk to ensure that peace, security, self-help drive and community development received due attention under his watch.
Chief Uzor said the Monarch had led Asaba to win the heart of the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Obborevwori, through his visionary leadership, expressing confidence that his Kingdom would grow from strength to strength in the years to come under the present administration.
He prayed God to grant the Asagba good health of mind and body, wisdom, a peaceful and successful reign.
