Worried about the low turn out for the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across Delta State, the state chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has announced plans to embark on a sensitization campaign across the nooks and crannies of the state with a view to increasing participation in the exercise.

Addressing newsmen at the end of the Council’s meeting in Asaba, which was attended by the Chairmen of all the registered political parties in the state, IPAC Chairman, Prince Henry Eze, said every Nigerian of voting age deserved to have a Permanent Voter Card to be able to participate in the 2027 electoral process.

Prince Eze noted that an electoral system without an appreciable voting strength was like a school without students, stressing that the beauty of democracy was in the contest for votes, which would not be possible without the voter’s card.

The IPAC Chairman said the Party Chairmen owed it a duty to ensure that citizens were abreast of all they needed to know about the electoral process, describing the CVR exercise as a key aspect of the electoral system, hence the planned sensitization.

He remarked that INEC had given enough time for the registration exercise, holding at designated centres across the state, including online, urging residents to take advantage of the windows created to avoid rush close to the election.

Prince Eze pointed out that the sensitization programme would commence on November 1, 2025, in Delta South, and would be taken to the other senatorial districts within the next eight months, explaining that arrangements had been put in place to ensure that no part of the state would be left out.

The IPAC Chairman, who is also the State Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) advised those who have attained the age of 18, lost their PVCs or relocated to new places of abode to make themselves available for the registration.

The Council used the occasion to unveil its branded Sienna bus that would aid the sensitization programme.
