The Oduosa of Utagbo Ogbe, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM, Obi Opia; has commended the Engr Chief Chukwuemeka Chukwurah Green Energy Foundation (ECCCGEF), for popularizing the planting of economic trees, especially those not commonly found in the present day.
Obi Opia gave the commendation on Thursday, 9th October, 2025, when he received the Founder and President of ECCCGEF, Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah, FNSE, FNIProcE, FNIEE, FFCSD, FNIM, who visited him to present 25 economic trees and seven copies of Anthology of Poems on Climate Change: Our Climate – Our Future.

He noted that the interventions of ECCCGEF were thoughtful and targeted at promoting the planting of the trees with economic value, some of which were already going into extinction.
While receiving the 25 economic trees seedlings presented, the traditional ruler promised to cascade the idea of economic trees orchards development in his kingdom, as a way of complimenting the efforts of the Foundation at reforestation and Green Energy campaign.

The ECCCGEF Founder and President, who was accompanied by the Foundation’s Secretary, Ogbueshi Cyril Monyei; amongst other environmentalists, was also at the College of Education, Warri, where a similar presentation was made to the Provost of the institution, Dr. Akpovwi, who was joined by a former Deputy Provost Dr. Mrs Dumebi Igbakprata, the Head of Agric Education and Director of Works Services.
Dr. Akpovi warmly welcomed the ECCCGEF team, congratulated the organization for winning the 2025 Delta State Environmental Sustainability Award and the State 2024 Environmentalist of the Year.

The Provost particularly noted that copies of the ECCCGEF publications presented to the College and the enlightenment lectures by the President, Engr Sir Chief Chris Chukwurah FNSE, FNIPROCE, FFCSD, FNIEE would help to fortify the students in the knowledge of orchard development, Climate Change causes, mitigation and adaptation, Renewable Energy and other solutions to Climate Change, as well as some past award-winning interventions of ECCCGEF.
Part of the enlightenment lecture and advocacy included the need for total quality environment in the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere, stressing the need to maintain global standards of air, plant/animal lives soil, water qualities.

ECCCGEF is pushing these in sustainable ways as her recent recognitions encourages her to commit to sustained ability for informed interventions.
The economic trees presented included avocados, pepper fruits, mangoes, native pears, sourchops, bitter kola and cherry (Udala), all sourced from the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
