ECCCGEF Takes Tree Planting Campaign, Climate Change Mitigation Advocacy to St. Rose’s College Ogwashi-Uku, Ezechime Sec. Sch, Obior

The Engr Chief Chukwuemeka Chukwurah Green Energy Foundation (ECCCGEF) has extended its tree planting campaign to two more schools in Delta state.

They are St. Rose’s College, Ogwashi-Uku, in Aniocha South Local Government Area, where 25 economic trees were planted and Ezechime Secondary School, Obior, in Aniocha North, which had 15 economic trees planted.

The team also planted 5 economic trees each at the Obior Community Civic Centre and a Primary School. 

The economic trees included Avocados ,Cashewnuts, Mangoes, Native Pears, Guavas, Sourchops, Bitter kola, Pepper fruits and Oranges. 

At St. Rose’s College, the President of ECCCGEF, Engr Chief Chris C. Chukwurah FNSE, FNIProcE, FNIEE, FFCSD, FNIM, KSM, and some members of the Board of Trustees, Engr Chris Ayidu and Engr Stanley Dibigbo who accompanied him, were received by the Principal of the School, Rev. Sister Onyinye Uwadiegwu at St. Rose’s College Ogwashi Uku, while at Ezechime Secondary School, Obior, they were received by the Principal Mrs Kawedo Nsopuru.

After planting the trees, the ECCCGEF team lectured the staff and students of the schools on Renewable Energy and Climate Change phenomena, with emphasis on the causes, mitigation and Disaster Risks associated with climate change. 

The lectures were well received and openly appreciated by staff and students of the two schools, whose Principals pledged to nurture the plants to fruition.

They promised that they and their students would ensure that the purpose of planting the trees and giving the enlightenment lecture for fruit bearing and climate change mitigation actions were achieved.

Five copies of the ECCCGEF publication, *Anthology of Poems on Climate Change* were later given to each of the two secondary schools for their libraries.
