Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, says he has initiated efforts towards meeting with the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, among others, to strengthen peace and unity in the All progressive Congress (APC) in Delta North and the entire state.
Senator Nwoko gave the hint when he met with Delta North Senatorial Executives, the nine Local Government Area Chairmen and 98 Ward Chairmen of the APC in the district on Sunday.
At the Sunday meeting, held at the Asaba residence of the Delta North APC Senatorial Chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, Senator Nwoko said harmony and cohesion were central to party progress and the development of Delta North and the state in general.
According to Nwoko: “I am for peace and collaboration amongst party leaders in Delta North. Efforts are on to reach out to former Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
“Also, I am in close contact with the State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme. Talks are on for mutual engagement”.
Senator Nwoko further noted that he had been in collaboration with the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, not only to strengthen the APC but also boost good governance for the benefit of the people.
The Federal Lawmaker said he had provided social infrastructure like roads, water, skill acquisition and job opportunities for constituents, as well as rehabilitated schools across Delta communities
The Senator also noted his advocacy for the upgrade of Federal College of Education (Tech) Asaba to a full-fledged University and the approval of a Federal University of Agriculture at Ute-Okpu, by the Tinubu administration, are part of his service to Delta North.
Senator Nwoko said he came to the National Assembly to effect a positive change and noted that development initiatives including his bills and motions were people-centered.
In his remarks, the Delta North Senatorial Chairman of APC, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, thanked Senator Nwoko for his contributions to the growth of the party and overall development of Delta North.
The meeting was attended by the senatorial APC executive members and the nine Local Government Area Chairmen of APC in Delta North namely: Hon. Matthew Chinye (Aniocha North), Hon. Norbert Sochukwudinma (Aniocha South), Hon. Austin C. Nnabuife (OshmIli North), Hon. Dada Okolo, (Oshimili South), Hon. Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South), Hon. Samuel Ekene Kerry (Ika North East), Chief Oputa Kris (Ndokwa East), Hon. Dike Onah (Ndokwa West), and Churchill Ugoena Edem, (Ukwuani) as well as the 98 Ward Chairmen in the senatorial district.
