The Engr Chief Chris Chukwurah Green Energy Foundation, (ECCCGEF) has donated 25 economic trees to Southern Delta University, Ozoro, for planting.
The Foundation also presented copies of Anthology of Poems on Climate Change and Essential Skills for Professional Engineering Practice and Management to the institution.
The gestures were perfected during a working visit to the University by the President of ECCCGEF, and Osowa Owelle Ahaba, Engr. Chief Chris. Chukwurah, FNSE, FNIM, FNIProcE, accompanied by Engr Stanley Dibigbo, Director of ICT/Publicity and Ogbueshi Cyril Monye, Secretary of ECCCGEF.

The trees included Avocado pear, Oranges, Cashewnuts, Mangos, Sourchops, Native pears, Pepper fruits, native pears, among others.
Briefing the University Council and Management, Engr. Chief Chris C. Chukwurah outlined the goal of reducing greenhouse gas, carbon footprint, promoting renewable energy and promoting total quality environment thereby solving the global Climate Change Crisis locally.

He stressed the importance of advocacy and positive actions against Climate Change by mitigation and adaptation to staff and students to conscientize them to be real Ambassadors in the fight for wholesome environment to preserve endangered mother earth.
Receiving the team, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Jacob Oboreh, commended ECCCGEF for its relentless Green Energy campaign and thanked the organization for not only extending the awareness to the institution, but also practicalizing it with the donation of the economic trees and providing Green Energy – related publications.
The Vice-Chancellor also gladly welcomed the provision of 20 copies of the Anthology of Poems on Climate Change and 10 copies of a publication on Essential Skills for Professional Engineering Practice and Management by the Foundation, which he noted would be very useful to the University .

The Chairman of The Governing Council of the University, Amb Godson Echiejile, who also spoke, expressed delight and immense appreciation for the intervention and requested the Vice-Chancellor to develop orchards in some unutilized portions of the University land for more productive land use.
Thereafter the Vice-Chancellor directed the Director of Works Services, Builder Sam Omiri and the Horticulturist to guide the Foundation in planting the trees at appropriate spaces of the Campus.
A copy of the Foundation’s Journal of Total Quality Environment and Green Energy was presented to the Vice-Chancellor to encourage senior academics of the University to contribute well thought-out researched papers/reports in future editions of the Journal with policy papers for solutions to Nigeria’s Energy transition, power poverty, environmental pollution and sustainability.
