A renowned legal luminary and Isama Ajie of Asaba, Chief Chuck Chukwuemeka Nduka-Eze, has pledged unalloyed loyalty and allegiance to the 14th Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS.

He made the pledge on Saturday while revalidating his oath of allegiance to the monarch, the Asagba-in-Council and the Asagba community.

Chief Nduka-Eze said Asagba Prof Azinge remained a highly esteemed and influential traditional ruler every Asaba Indigene would love to identify with for his esteemed personality and strong character, describing the oath of allegiance renewal as a two-way confidence vote which should not be taken for granted.

The Isama Ajie added that his allegiance to Asagba Prof Azinge had never been in doubt, having known and worked closely with him over the years before he ascended the throne, delivering effectively on assigned responsibilities.

Chief Nduka-Eze, who made donations to the palace building project and palace maintenance fund, appreciated the burden of leadership on the shoulders of the Asagba and called on all critical stakeholders, especially the Obis and Olinzeles, to continue to demonstrate absolute loyalty and allegiance to the King, as well as contribute to the palace maintenance fund to make his reign successful to the glory of God and the benefit of the entire
He requested for a fitting location within the New Asagba of Asaba Palace grounds for the Asaba Massacre Memorial Museum in honour of the victims of the 7th October 1967 genocide and His Royal Majesty enthusiastically received the request.

Responding, Asagba Prof Azinge congratulated the Isama Ajie on the renewal of his oath of allegiance, which he noted was a mere formality because he had never had cause to doubt the loyalty of Chief Nduka-Eze to him as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.

The monarch specially thanked the Isama for historically pulling an unprecedented crowd of the Obis in particular, saying that the event would, through the media, showcase the rich culture of Asaba people to the world.

He praised Chief Nduka-Eze for his capacity to deliver on every responsibility assigned to him in a record time, adding that as the Chairman of the Asaba Image Branding Committee, he had demonstrated missionary zeal in pushing Asaba to greater heights.

The Asagba expressed appreciation to the Isama Ajie for donating to the permanent palace building project and to the palace maintenance fund, and urged other sons of Asaba to emulate him, with the consciousness that the task ahead could only be accomplished through collective efforts.
