Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has been described as a consummate politician whose 8-year tenure as Governor of Delta State will not be forgotten in a hurry.
In a congratulatory message to the immediate past Governor on the auspicious occasion of his 66th birth anniversary, Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Inter – Party Relations, Chief Josiah Efe Tobor, said Okowa exemplified humility, selflessness, compassionate and godliness.
Chief Efe Tobor noted that the highly esteemed political leader had a stint in leadership as a Local Government Chairman, Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator and Governor of Delta State.
The EA said Okowa not only consolidated the achievements of his predecessors when he held sway as Governor, but also initiated policies, programmes and projects that the present administration found laudable to carry on with.
The EA stated that Okowa had mentored many younger politicians to become political leaders in their own rights and remained a source of inspiration to many across the country.
He wished the former Governor many happy returns of the day and prayed God to continue to keep him strong and healthy, and grant him the strength and wherewithal to further serve the state, the country and humanity.
