Residents of the Ika axis of the state have commended the Delta State Waste Management Board for working hard to improve the cleanliness of the area.
Some of the residents who spoke with our reporter in Agbor, noted that refuse could now hardly be found on the streets and median strips due to regular evacuation of waste by officials of the Board.
Mr. John Onyeacholem, Madam Nneka Ikenna and Chief Okeke Augustine, all acknowledged the clean look of parts of Agbor and the environs in recent times and urged the Board to sustain its good work.
They thanked the Board for the regular maintenance of the Ika dumpsite, on Agbor – Abraka road, Boji Boji Owa, which had made it possible for the Waste Managers in the area to operate without difficulty.
When contacted, the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Waste Management Board, Hon Matthew Mofe Edema, commended the Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Council, Hon Monday Odigwe, for undertaking to push the dumpsite for five days.
Hon Edema and members of the Board appreciated the level of collaboration of the Council Chairman in keeping the entire Ika area clean, in line with the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration, and assured that officials of the Board would continue to be on top of their duties to ensure that the level of cleanliness already achieved was not only sustained but improved upon.
