The Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) has called on the management of Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company, (SEEPCO), Nigeria, to quickly respond to the demands of Utagba Ogbe with regard to the alleged violations of agreements reached between the firm and the host communities in Utagba Ogbe Kingdom, Kwale which includes Umusadege, Ogbeani and others.

The President General of NNU, Comrade Chief Amechi Asugwuni, while reacting to the breach of the agreement, noted that it amounted to the company abandoning its Corporate Social Responsibility to the host communities.

Comrade Asugwuni said the non compliance of the company with the agreements reached with Utagba-Ogbe and other host communities had been officially reported to the NNU, hence the call for action to avoid a break down of law and order.

“The management of Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company, Nigeria, is hereby advised to immediately respond positively to the demands of the people of Utagba Ogbe by calling for an urgent meeting to dialogue and ensure that their rightful demands are addressed appropriately and accordingly to avert the possible mass protest action against SEEPCO’s operations.

“Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) remains committed to advancing the course of host communities in Ndokwa land and will not allow any form of intimidation on the people of Utagba Ogbe under any guise whatsoever”, Comrade Asugwuni warned.
