The Asagba thanked the diasporan for all the kind sentiments he expressed about the reforms that had taken place in the land within the past seven months, stressing that the task of repositioning the community was not for the throne alone, but for all Asaba sons and daughters wherever they might be.

He said the future of Asaba was largely dependent on her sons and daughters in diaspora most of whom were formidable and doing a lot in their own rights, explaining that the vision was to always incorporate them in different tasks and as critical stakeholders acquaint them with happenings at the home front with respect to rebuilding the community.

The two-term Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and Papal Knight of Saint Gregory the Great drew Jikoa’s attention to the tremendous infrastructural upgrade that had taken place in Asaba over time and the population explosion the town had experienced in recent times due to the influx of people from different parts of the country, emphasizing that the reign of peace remained the best thing that made the town a safe haven to investors.

Asagba Prof Azinge pointed out that he was passionate about sustaining the peace in Asaba, adding that the community was collaborating with the government in that regard to ensure that the town remained the preferred destination for investment and the fastest growing state capital in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Earlier, the diasporan, Jikoa Monu, said he came to present himself to the king and to congratulate him on his ascension to the throne, having been absent during his coronation.
