Civil servants in Delta State have been charged to be dedicated to their duties while respecting the ethics and extant rules of the civil service.

A retired Director in the Delta State Civil Service, Mr Karo Ovemeso, gave the charge in Asaba in an interview with Journalists at a reception organized by friends to celebrate his successful retirement from service.
Karo Ovemeso, who was the immediate past Chairman, Delta Civil Service Administrative Officers’ Forum, said the service had a lot of opportunities for committed and hard working officers, stressing that it was a delight to contribute to the growth and development of one’s state through the civil service.
He thanked God for seeing him through the thick and thin of the civil service and commended the successive administrations in the state for providing the enabling environment for him to give his best in the various capacities he found himself.
The retired Director particularly thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his labour-friendly disposition, having paid promotion arrears amounting to over 5 billion naira and the new minimum wage to civil servants in the state.
Ovemeso appreciated all the Commissioners and Heads of Departments and Agencies with whom he worked, attributing his successful career in the service to their cooperation and understanding.
