A popular political support group in the state, Delta Grassroots Network (DGN), has described the past two years of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration as impactful in many ways.

The founder of the group, Hon Chuks Asuai, in a statement made available to Journalists, noted that the Governor, through his MORE agenda, had made impressive marks in all sectors of the economy.

Hon Asuai particularly noted that the Governor’s footprints were on ground across the state, especially in rural infrastructure and public service delivery, adding that the present administration had provided roads in various communities, reducing travel time from Asaba to Ughelli to just one hour forty-five minutes

He noted that, for the first time, development projects had reached many previously underserved coastal communities, citing the Beneku bridge, Ishiagu-Ewulu road and bridge, Upper and Lower Erejuwa roads in Warri, erosion control in Okpanam, Olomoro-Igbide road, Otolokpo to Boji-Boji Owa, Akumazi-Owere-Olubor road, and Obi-Ibabu road, among others, as some of the key projects.

In the area of job creation, the DGN helmsman said the Oborevwori administration had empowered over 250,000 Deltans through various programmes coordinated by inter-ministerial departments and agencies, including the D-CARES grant initiative.

While pledging the group’s continued support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the DGN helmsman said the organization had been on ground since 2015 working for the system with nothing to show for it.

Hon Asuai urged the Governor to seize the opportunity of the political realignment in the state to accommodate some members of the group in the reward system to encourage them to continue to support him, especially his 2027 re-election bid.
