The new leadership of the Asaba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ASACCIMA) has been charged to push the activities and achievements of the organization to the consciousness of the public.

The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, gave the charge on Wednesday when a delegation of the new executive of the organization paid him a courtesy visit.
Asagba Prof Azinge noted that many people lacked the knowledge of the daily engagements, long-term projects and vision of ASACCIMA, emphasizing the need for aggressive sensitization programmes to periodically push the vision, mission and achievements of the Chamber to the public space.

He said the greatest achievement of ASACCIMA which should be widely publicised for Nigerians to know about was the existence of a centre for arbitration and dispute resolution in its office complex, which was of great importance not only to the legal community, but also to the larger society.
The First Class traditional ruler pointed out that Asaba, as the fastest growing state capital in Nigeria, had all that was needed to be a commercial hub, saying that the hotels and other business centres in the capital city could only be mainstreamed through the instrumentality of the association.

The Asagba urged the new President of ASACCIMA to look beyond the Commerce component of the organisation, to explore the Industry, Mines and Agriculture aspects, explaining that agriculture was of great significance to Asaba because farming in the community was virtually non existent.
To achieve this, he tasked the new executive to be more proactive, creative and innovative, assuring the body of the support of the Palace towards the realization of the set goals.

Asagba Prof Azinge expressed appreciation to the founding father of ASACCIMA, Chief Philip Asiodu, for his foresight and vision, and commended the immediate past President of the association, Chief Anthony Idigbe, SAN, for the giant strides he recorded and for grooming a successor to take the organization to greater heights.
The new President of ASACCIMA, Hon (Chief) Chinwe Monu-Oduah, said the visit was to inform the Asagba about her emergence and to seek his royal blessings.

Hon Monu-Oduah promised to consolidate the achievements of her predecessors, stressing that she had never failed in all previous challenging tasks and ASACCIMA leadership would not be an exception.
She commended the Idigbe – led past executive for setting high standards for the association and solicited the support of the Asagba in navigating the onerous task ahead.

Earlier, while introducing the new ASACCIMA President, Chief Anthony Idigbe, SAN, said the association was conceived and birthed by Chief Philip Asiodu, in synergy with Chief Afam Obiago, who was also instrumental in acquiring the land housing the Chamber’s office in the core area of Asaba.
Chief Idigbe said the organisation had not only built on the foundation it inherited, but had made significant progress in the areas of infrastructural development and administrative structure, revealing that the establishment of an arbitration/dispute resolution centre was the most outstanding achievement of the body.
