The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS, has again expressed the desire of the Asaba community for a Law Faculty in Dennis Osadebay University.

Asagba Prof Azinge, while receiving the Chairman, Council of Legal Education, Nigerian Law School, Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN, who paid him a visit in his Palace on Easter Monday, noted that it was absurd not to have a Law Faculty in a University named after a distinguished Lawyer like late Chief Dennis Osadebay.

The Asagba, a Professor of Law and foremost Constitutional Lawyer, on behalf of the Asaba community, urged the Chairman of Council of Legal Education to be prepared to assist in actualizing the dream at the appointed time.

He thanked Chief Ngige for visiting for the third time since he ascended the throne six months ago, describing him as someone faithful to friendship who had remained helpful to him and the people of Asaba, even outside the legal profession.

The highly influential First Class traditional ruler told his guest, whom he had known for over three decades, that he had so far tried his best to make a remarkable difference, having pledged to show leadership and make sacrifices for the overall good of his kingdom, and expressed delight that the entire Asaba community appeared to be supportive of his reforms.

Earlier, the visiting Chairman of Council, Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN, congratulated Asagba Prof Azinge on his well deserved ascension to the throne of his forebears, pointing out that he helped to shape the Nigerian judicial system as Special Assistant to former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Agbamuche and as two-time Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

He thanked the people of Asaba for making the right choice of their King and assured them that the community would witness unprecedented transformation under Asagba Prof Azinge’s watch.
