The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has commended the member Representing the Ughelli-Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Francis Ejiroghene Waive for putting the interest of Delta State above personal interest.

Reacting to the endorsement of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office and call on All Progressive Congress, APC in Delta State to adopt the Governor as the sole candidate of the party for governorship election in 2027 by the federal Lawmaker, the Speaker acknowledged that it could only take courage to break from party lines and prioritize the interest of the people.

Guwor stated that the State Governor had shown capacity in governance, stressing that even the blind could feel the positive impacts of the Oborevwori administration in Delta state in the past one year and ten months.

The Speaker pointed out that the bravery of Rt Hon Waive in standing for the truth and the interest of the people of Delta State, should be respected and appreciated, saying that the stance of the federal lawmaker was the way to sustain the current pace of development in Delta state.

The Speaker in a statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, urged other well meaning Deltans to join forces with Governor Oborevwori in his efforts and strive for greater Delta State.

In response to the discomforting disposition of a few APC members in the state on the lawmaker’s stance, Guwor emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in the state’s political landscape.

He said “By adopting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as sole candidate in 2027, the APC would be demonstrating a willingness to put aside partisan interests and work towards the common good of the people of Delta State”.

The Speaker highlighted the benefits of having a united front in promoting the state’s development and welfare of the people, saying that Delta State was safe under the leadership of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Rt Hon Guwor maintained that another term in office would further strengthen and consolidate the achievements of the MORE agenda of the present administration and usher in greater prosperity in the state.
