Non indigenes resident in Delta State have expressed satisfaction with the performance of Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori since he assumed office as Governor on May 29, 2023.

In a congratulatory message to the Governor on his emergence as the New Telegraph Governor of the Year (Infrastructure), the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Hon Barr. Emeka Ebiliekwe, said the non indigenous communities in the state were delighted with the giant strides of the Oborevwori administration, especially in the area of infrastructural development.

Hon Ebiliekwe, a former Commissioner for Information in Imo State, noted that Governor Oborevwori did not only commit to completing projects inherited from his predecessor, but also initiated new ones, which were being funded and progressing fast.

He pointed out that the non indigenes were particularly happy with the Governor’s insistence on value for money in project execution, which had put contractors on their toes, describing it as a measure that would leave behind a legacy of projects that would stand the test of time

The EA added that the recent approval of over N275 billion for project execution in the three senatorial districts, with 40 percent mobilization, by the State Executive Council, spoke loud of the Governor’s readiness to deliver on his MORE agenda, even in less than two years in office.

Hon Ebiliekwe said the New Telegraph Governor of the Year award for infrastructural development bestowed on Oborevwori did not come to the non indigenes of the state as a surprise as he had earlier won other numerous awards and still counting.

He commended the management of New Telegraph for following up on the activities of the Governor, which led to his choice for the award, and expressed optimism that the honour would spur him to do more for the state.

The EA assured Oborevwori of the continued support of non indigenes living in Delta State.
