The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, was at the Asokoro-Abuja residence of Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, on a condolence visit to the family of the late foremost Ijaw National Leader.

Rt Hon Guwor, accompanied by a former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo and wife, retired Justice Roselyn Bozimo, was received on arrival by members of Chief Clark’s family, led by Prof College Clark, who was flanked by E.K. Clark’s first son, Mr Penaowie Clark and first daughter, Mrs Rebecca Okorodudu.

The visit of Mr Speaker to the Clark’s home was of multiple representations, including as the Speaker of the Delta State Legislature; the Coordinator of Ijaw Political Leaders’ forum in Delta State and also as a son, having such strong family ties with the late icon.

Addressing the family members and other guests at the residence, Rt Hon Guwor recalled his last moments with Chief E. K Clark, saying that he was a father figure to many, particularly people of the Niger-Delta region.

The Speaker noted that it would be difficult to have a replacement for late Chief Clark, stressing that besides living a life of service, he was an unrepentant crusader of justice, equity, fair play and environmental protection and sustainability.

Guwor condoled the family of E.K Clark and prayed God to grant the soul of the late nonagenarian and frontline leader, activist and nationalist, eternal rest.
