A Federal Legislator in Delta State, Rt. Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, has hailed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for winning the THISDAY NEWSPAPER/ARISE NEWS BOARD Governor of the Year award.
Hon Ezechi, who represents the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in a statement issued on Monday, noted that the Governor’s nomination and subsequent emergence as the winner of the prestigious award was a great honour to Delta and the entire people of the state.
He stated that Governor Oborevwori had, since assuming office on May 29, 2023, shown leadership capacity, transparency and accountability, stressing that for the Governor to have recorded significant strides in the governance of the state in the past 20 months without borrowing a dime was enough to earn him the award.
The Lawmaker said the Governor’s believe in giving the youths the opportunity to grow through appointments to positions of authority and various empowerment packages, was quite commendable and encouraging.
Hon Ezechi commended the Board and Management of ThisDay and Arise News Board for identifying the sterling leadership qualities in the Governor, which had left his critics perplexed.
He recalled that Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had won other awards and recognitions in the past, all of which had propelled him to put in more efforts towards the actualization of the policies and programmes of his administration.
The Lawmaker assured the Governor of the continued support of the people of Ndokwa nation in his quest to gain more grounds in the delivery of his mandate and make life more meaningful to Deltans.
