Erijo Emerges MAFEST 2025 Ambassador

Organizers of the Meet Africa Fashion Festival (MAFEST), have been commended for taking interest in promoting African fashion and creativity.

The Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, gave the commendation after being made an Ambassador of the MAFEST project.

Hon Erijo, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, known for his fashion-sense, expressed delight that Nigerians were utilizing the prevailing economic challenges to think outside the box of how to realize their potentials and by extension meaningfully contribute to nation building.

The Chief of Staff noted that MAFEST, proudly being organized by Mena Communications Limited, in collaboration with Vanguard Newspapers and Modela Couture, would be a huge project, hence the back up by the Delta State Government, with the strategic support of the Nigerians in Diaspora Europe and Africa, the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), the Federal Ministry of Environment, and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

He said the vision of the organizers was in tandem with the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration, as the event aimed to provide a platform for established and emerging designers to showcase their talent influence policy and investment, among other things.

While highlighting the immense untapped potential of Africa’s, and indeed Nigeria”s fashion sector, which the Meet Africa Fashion Festival aimed to draw attention to, Hon Erijo thanked the project organizers for the recognition accorded him and promised to be a good Ambassador to the Festival. 

Presenting a certificate of recognition to the Chief of Staff as a MAFEST Ambassador, the Project President, Mr. Charles Ozoemena, said the event would serve as an alternative platform to showcase the positive image of Delta State while highlighting the commendable initiatives of the Oborevwori administration.  

He urged the Delta State Government to consider investment in the fashion and garment sector as a strategic policy capable of generating thousands of employment opportunities for Deltans, stressing that by supporting MAFEST, the state could attract investors to Asaba, foster growth in the sector and beyond.
