The Ndokwa East Youth Association (NEYA), has thrown its weight behind a former President General of the body and one-time President of Construction Workers in Nigeria, Comrade Chief Amechi Asugwuni, in the forthcoming election of a new executive for the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU).
NEYA, in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Hon Cletus Ashaka, at the end of an Executive Council meeting held on Saturday, January 18, said it was fully in support of Senior Comrade Asugwuni, who was also a former National Coordinating Chairman of Saipem, for the position of President General of NNU and called on sons and daughters of Ndokwa land to mobilize support for him.
The Association noted the Comrade Chief Asugwuni, the immediate past Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), had the strength, capacity and connection to lead the apex sociocultural organisation of the Ndokwa nation at this time in history, adding that his enviable track record of success in past positions held was a testament to what he would offer the NNU and the Ndokwa nation at large.

NEYA expressed absolute confidence in the ex-labour leader, stressing that he remained a man of strong character, selfless and result-oriented leader, as well as an illustrious son of Ndokwa land deeply passionate about the welfare and well-being of the people.
The Comrade Linus Osaji – led group assured that Chief Amechi Asugwuni would not fail if given the opportunity to lead the NNU and urged Ndokwa leaders and stakeholders to support his ambition.
