The Director General of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency, (WUEDA), Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere, has assured that the ongoing storm water drainage projects in Ugboroke area of the Oil City will be completed in record time despite the discovery of some obstructions in the course of the projects
Prince Ejinyere gave the assurance on Monday when he led a team of WUEDA’s civil engineers on an unscheduled visit to Ugboroke where he inspected the storm water control projects at River road and Olarhe Quarters of Ugboroke, in Uvwie LGA of Delta State.

The WUEDA DG, who frowned at the slow pace at which electric poles and cables were being removed to pave the way for unhindered execution of the project, urged those involved in the process to hasten up the removal of such obstacles, as the rainy season would soon set in.
He urged officials of CCECC handling the projects to take concrete measures to stop underground water from flowing into the floor of the drainage channel at Olarhe Quarters, to guarantee its integrity and long life span.

Prince Ejinyere said the unscheduled inspection visit was in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s directive that projects should be frequently inspected to ensure that they were not only delivered within stipulated time frame but also according to specifications, so as to meet international standards.
WUEDA’s Director of Project and Works, Engr. Ofoeyenor Bemigho assured the Director General that the electric poles and cables which caused obstructions to the projects, would be removed as the job progressed.

The DG directed Engr. Bemigho to work out a definite date for the removal of the poles and cables, to fast track the job, urging CCECC not to delay the projects because of obstructions that could be easily removed.
WUEDA’s Assistant Director of Project, Engr. Okeme Obruche was among those who accompanied Hon. Godwin Ejinyere on the unscheduled inspection visit.
