Sen. Ned Nwoko Offers Assistance To Families Of Agbor Tanker Explosion Victims

Following the tanker explosion that led to the loss of lives and property at Agbor, in Ika South local government area, last Sunday, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North senatorial district, has offered to support families of the victims. 

The explosion occured when a tanker conveying highly inflammable product lost control on old Lagos – Asaba road Agbor and burst into flames, burning no fewer than 

6 people to death and destroying property worth millions of naira. 

Moved by the tragedy, Senator Nwoko sent a delegation to meet with families of the victims, days after issuing a public statement of condolence.

Speaking on behalf of the Federal Lawmaker, the Head, Senator Ned Nwoko Constituency Office, Asaba, Chief Ugo Asibelua, expressed sadness over the incident.

He said Senator Nwoko was deeply touched by the tragic deaths and loss of property. 

Also speaking, the Senior Legislative Aide and Chief of staff to Senator Ned nwoko, Dr Michael Nwoko, said the visit was to sympathize with the families and take record of the losses suffered for necessary assistance by the Senator 

He said “Senator Ned Nwoko will provide appropriate financial assistance in his characteristic spirit of charity”.

Dr. Michael Nwoko urged the families of the dead victims and those who lost their property to be calm as the Senator was committed to their welfare in this time of distress.

Among places visited by the team were the scene of the explosion and homes of the victims – Deaconess Adomgbor Deborah, who was caught in the fire while returning from Church, Donatus Udoka, a generator mechanic and Rashidat, a bureau de change operator who hailed from Kebbi state.

The Ika South and Ika North East local government coordinators, Ned Nwoko Constituency Office, Mr Stanley Ehiedu and Mr Alfred Idehen, thanked the Senator for his untiring efforts at uplifting the well being of the people of Delta North and Nigerians in general.
