NUJ Delta 2024 Press Week Events Hold Dec 29-31

Activities for the 2024 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, have been scheduled to hold from December 29-31, 2024.

A statement signed by the Chairman, Planning Committee, Barry Agbanighi and Secretary, Oris Aniretan, says a Media Awareness/Thanksgiving will hold on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

The thanksgiving will take place at the Living Faith Church, Okpanam, at 9am.

Monday, December 30, 2024, is the Press Week Lecture/Award Day, billed for the NUJ Press Centre, Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba at 11.00 a.m.

Tuesday, December 31, 2024, is Community Development Service Day.

The State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and his Taraba State counterpart, Mr. Agbu Kefas, are expected to be the Special Guests of Honour at the Lecture/Award ceremony, with Rt. Hon Thomas Ereyitomi, representing the Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, as Chairman and a veteran Journalist, Elder Chris Biose, as Alternate Chairman. 

Senators Ned Nwoko, Adams Oshiomhole and Seriake Dickson, will be discussing good governance on the occasion. 

Rt. Hon Patrick Obanyagbon will be keynote speaker, His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, Royal Father of the Day, while the National President of NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, will be the Chief Host and the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, the Host. 

The theme of the Lecture is: ‘Imperative of Proper Leadership Recruitment Process for Good Governance’. 

All members of the union, particularly those in Asaba and the environs, have been enjoined to participate actively in the events as scheduled.
