Egwu-Ota Holds For Late Ezinnne Bridget Nkemdilim Ugboko In Asaba

The Ugboko family of Ogbe-Ilo village, Umu-Onaje quarters, Asaba, on Saturday, continued with the traditional burial rites of their matriarch, late Ezinnne Bridget Nkemdilim Ugboko, popularly called Nnee.

It was an epochal event, well attended by a cross section of the Asaba community and featured the popular Egwu-Ota and other traditional dances.

In an interview with newsmen, one of the children of the deceased’s and an Asaba Red Cap Chief, Obi Dr Benibe Ugboko, paid tribute to their late mother, who died at the ripe age of 91.

Obi Dr. Ugboko, the immediate past Head of the Otu-Ihaza, described the late Ezinnne as a virtuous and hard working woman, a mother of all, who ensured the best for her children.

The renowned medical practitioner noted that their late mother was there for them when they lost their father 36 years ago, adding that though she did not have a formal education, the late nonagenarian did everything possible to send them to school. 

He said the family would greatly miss her love, care and counsel and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.
