The Asagba of Asaba, HRM, Obi Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge SAN, OON FNIALS, KSG, has announced a package of N50, 000 each for 200 widows in Asaba in the spirit of the yuletide.
Asagba Prof Azinge, who announced the gesture in his maiden Asagba – in – Council meeting, urged sons and daughters of Asaba to always remember the less privileged in their midst.
He said besides the spiritual significance of Christmas, the celebration offered an opportunity for people, especially Christians, to love one another and be good to the needy, in order to give them a sense of belonging
The highly revered traditional ruler commended Asaba son and daughters at home and in the diaspora for their tremendous support towards the development of the town and reminded them that a lot still needed to be done to take Asaba to the pride of place
According to HRM, “The Asaba land that we venerate so much shall continue to reward each and everyone of you that extends a helping hand to your fellow brothers and sisters in need and for your contributions towards the betterment of Ani Ahaba”.
One of the major highlights of the Asagba – in – Council meeting was the approval of the adoption of Leasehold as against Freehold, which had been the practice in land sale in Asaba.
Security also featured prominently as Asagba Prof Azinge showered praises on the security agencies in the state and more importantly the Asaba Community Police for living up to responsibilities.
He, however, urged them not to rest on their oars, noting that security was a continuous process that required vigilance and intelligence gathering.
