Members of ward 5 of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Oshimili South Local Government Area, have been urged to tolerate one another in the overall interest of the party
The leader of the ward and Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, Hon Taju Isichei, made the call at the monthly meeting of the ward at Umuaji quarters in Asaba.
Hon Isichei, popularly called Ikuku, who was reacting to alleged plans by some members to unseat the current executive of the ward, said it was unfortunate and would not work.
He said members of the Exco were elected in a properly conducted congress and could not be removed with a wave of the hand, stressing that they needed the support of every member to succeed.
The EA told party faithful that the leadership of the ward was putting together an empowerment programme for them and pledged to support the project with the sum of N500,000, to augment what would be coming from the ward to add colour to their Christmas celebration.
The ward leader assured members that their welfare would continue to receive attention and pleased with them to remain loyal and supportive of the system and the Oborevwori administration.
Hon Isichei emphasized the need for unity in the ward, saying that the monthly meetings, which had remained consistent, had been able to bring members closer to one another to share concerns and come up with ideas that helped the party to grow and record electoral victories.
Earlier, the Chairman of the ward, Ogbueshi Adim Onochie Ajaka, represented by his Vice, Ogbueshi Chinedu Nwokolo, said the executive was focused on strengthening the party and would not succumb to distractions and blackmail.
Ogbueshi Ajaka called on members to identify with their calls and learn to respect constituted authority, as anything to the contrary was inimical to the interest of PDP in the ward and would not be encouraged.
